The client’s adventurous brief required an efficient sports fishing boat, with enough grunt to provide exceptional open ocean performance, while providing a stable platform for game fishing, and spacious, relaxing areas for passengers away from the action, including toilets and a berth/stowage area.
“The Typhoon 33 utilises a proven platform, which we tweaked to fulfil every one of the client’s wishes and wrapped in a modern aesthetic,” says Kit Carlier, Director, Kit Carlier Design.
On-board the forward seating area converts quickly to a sun-pad and space has been allowed for an overhead sunshade to be added if desired. The hulls contain a bathroom and a small berth/stowage space, which are both compact yet sufficient.
A large centre console provides an abundance of protection, comfortably seating three on shock mitigating seats, and housing a suite of hi-tech navigation and electronics. The aft-facing seating and storage pod provides grandstand seating, ensuring all passengers are sheltered by the huge hardtop.
Twin 350hp Yamaha V8s will ensure offshore fishing spots are reached quickly, however a pair of 627hp Seven marine outboards are easily subbed in for optimal speed and performance.
The Typhoon 33 is available in both centre console and enclosed hardtop options.
